The Marconi Drive path is shaded from City Park Avenue, and a favorite section beyond the interstate passes beneath majestic oaks. Raised boardwalk sections help protect the roots.
In warm months, attentive visitors may see alligators in lagoons beside the trail. Observe from a respectful distance and never feed wildlife.
Continue to Lake Pontchartrain
Marconi reaches the lakefront and connects riders with West End, the New Canal Lighthouse, Lake Vista, the Mardi Gras Fountain, the Causeway view, and the massive post-Katrina pumping complex.
Morning renters can ride to West End for lunch first, then return by Wisner Boulevard and Bayou St. John for a different set of views.
